Insulin resistance occurs when your cells don’t respond properly to insulin, forcing your body to produce more of it to keep blood sugar stable. Over time, this can lead to inflammation, hormonal shifts, and increased risk of diabetes.

Diabetes and prediabetes are more than blood sugar issues—they are metabolic and hormonal conditions.  Elevated glucose over time can affect the heart, kidneys, eyes, and nerves.

  • Prediabetes: Blood sugar is higher than normal, but not yet in the diabetes range.  This is often the most effective time for intervention.

  • Type 2 Diabetes: Develops when the body becomes resistant to insulin or cannot produce enough of it.
