Metabolic Health
Hormones and Your Body's Energy System
Why Metabolic Health Matters
Metabolic health is the foundation for your energy, mood, and long-term well-being. When it’s working well, your body manages blood sugar smoothly, fuels your brain, and supports healthy weight and hormone balance. When it’s off, you may notice fatigue, stubborn weight changes, irregular cycles, brain fog, or cravings.
At Bello Wellness, we view metabolic concerns not as isolated issues, but as part of your whole hormonal picture. This is why every metabolic health plan here includes a thorough evaluation of your hormones—because hormones don’t just affect your cycles or menopause, they influence how every cell in your body uses energy.
Because hormones can’t do it all — your whole body works together.
And hormones alone can’t carry the load. The foods you eat and the way you move each day directly shape how your body regulates blood sugar, responds to stress, and uses energy. That’s why every plan at Bello Wellness integrates nutrition strategies and movement frameworks alongside hormone care—so your metabolic health thrives in tandem with your hormones.

Some conditions related to metabolic health…
PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)
PCOS is one of the most common hormonal conditions in women, often linked with insulin resistance. While it can cause irregular periods, excess androgens, and difficulty conceiving, it’s also a metabolic condition—meaning your blood sugar, insulin, and weight regulation are part of the picture.
Insulin Resistance
Insulin resistance occurs when your cells don’t respond properly to insulin, forcing your body to produce more of it to keep blood sugar stable. Over time, this can lead to inflammation, hormonal shifts, and increased risk of diabetes.
Why hormones matter:
High insulin can suppress ovulation and alter reproductive hormones
Low testosterone in men or high testosterone in women can worsen insulin resistance
Thyroid imbalances can slow metabolism and affect glucose control
At Bello Wellness, restoring hormonal balance may be part of improving your insulin sensitivity—so your body can use energy more effectively.
Diabetes (Type 2) & Prediabetes
Diabetes and prediabetes are more than blood sugar issues—they are metabolic and hormonal conditions. Elevated glucose over time can affect the heart, kidneys, eyes, and nerves.
Prediabetes: Blood sugar is higher than normal, but not yet in the diabetes range. This is often the most effective time for intervention.
Type 2 Diabetes: Develops when the body becomes resistant to insulin or cannot produce enough of it.
Our approach:
We address the root contributors—hormonal, metabolic, and lifestyle—to support better glucose control and long-term health. BHRT may be used alongside nutrition, activity, and other supportive strategies to help improve insulin sensitivity and energy levels.
